It has been some time since our last post, and we do apologize. As a matter of fact, the organization has been growing rather quickly the last few months and we will have a lot of volunteers during the summer, but we still need more help so do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to know more or apply! :)
Some of you might still be wondering what our project is all about and what we are trying to achieve, to summarize, you as a volunteer in Aay's Village you will be more independent than what you might be used to and decide your own tasks in guidance with Aay and our team of course. Read below for a more comprehensive explanation:
Aay’s Village is a small and independent organisation that seeks its volunteers to have a greater role in the work we do than just operating under fixed tasks. It means that you are free to initiate changes and improvements while you are here, and it also means that you will have a valuable role for the future of Aay’s Village. However, we are dependent on our volunteers being independent and motivated to work hard. We do trust in the volunteers that we believe are suited for our little independent organisation to initiate and implement changes that is best for Aay’s village and its people.
A lot of the work that is needed in the village and in our project house has to be initiated when you are there, thus, you are free to plan your days as you want through discussions with Aay and preparations with our team. As we are still in our start-up, there is a lot to do and we have to expect unforeseen challenges and problems while we grow.
We are small, but with a big impact on the local community. We want to be honest and emphasise how new and fresh everything is; not to scare anyone off, but to set the expectations where they should be. I understand from your own description that you are motivated and hold the qualifications that can ensure that these are dealt with in an efficient and sustainable way. We are grateful if you decide to join our team, and hope you are excited to take part in the responsibilities of Aay’s Village.
